Copaiba Essential Oil

Copaiba essential oil is derived from the resin of the copaiba tree, which grows over 100 feet tall in tropical South America. Copaiba trees are tapped for their oleoresin, similar to how maple syrup is harvested. The Amazon River basin experiences about 80–85% humidity year-round with an average of 90 inches of rain per year. Because of its position on the equator, the Amazon Rainforest enjoys 12 hours of sunlight every day of the year. Copaiba trees thrive in this unique climate.

Copaiba is widely used in soaps, creams, lotions, and perfumes and has been an integral component in traditional Brazilian wellness practices.

Frankincense Essential Oil

Frankincense has been a highly valued commodity for millennia, dating back to ancient civilizations like Babylon and Assyria. The precious resin is the oldest global supply chain. Babylonians and Assyrians would burn it in religious ceremonies and for contemplative meditation. The ancient Egyptians used it in perfumes and soothing skin salves. Oil from the resin has long been used in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese wellness practices.

Frankincense essential oil comes from the resin of the frankincense tree. Harvesters make shallow cuts in the bark, from which resin seeps out. The resin is left for two weeks to crystallize, then it’s scraped off the tree. This process repeats over multiple weeks throughout the harvesting season. Resin tears are carefully cleaned and organized by size and color by harvesters before distillation.

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender is widely considered a must-have essential oil because of its versatility. It’s been used and cherished for centuries because of its unmistakable aroma and myriad of benefits. Ancient Egyptians and Romans used lavender for bathing and cooking and in perfumes.

Lavender essential oil is distilled from the freshly harvested flowering tops of the true lavender plant (also known as English lavender) from lavender farms in Bulgaria, France, and other areas of the world.

The gentle, relaxing aroma of Lavender oil is best known for promoting a peaceful environment.

Coriander Essential Oil

Coriander essential oil is sourced from the seeds of an aromatic annual herb that grows up to three feet high—the same plant we get Cilantro essential oil from. Like Lavender essential oil, Coriander oil has a high linalool content, which promotes a clear complexion when applied to the skin. It’s sweet, herbaceous aroma adds a fresh, hearty note to essential oil blends.

lemongrass image lemongrass image

Lemongrass Essential Oil

Lemongrass essential oil is sourced from a tall, perennial plant that grows in stalks. Native to tropical regions, lemongrass is known for its herbal, citrusy aroma and is popular in various cuisines.

Lemongrass essential oil can tone and cleanse the skin and scalp when incorporated into a hair- or skincare routine. It’s also an ideal addition to a post-workout massage.

Peppermint Leaf image Peppermint Leaf image

Peppermint Essential Oil

The peppermint plant is a hybrid of water mint and spearmint that was first described by Carl Linnaeus in 1753. A high menthol content—like that found in the doTERRA Peppermint essential oil—distinguishes the best quality Peppermint oil from other products. The sharp, sweet scent of Peppermint essential oil can create an exhilarating environment during physical activity.

Because of its high menthol content, Peppermint oil may be soothing when used in a massage.

Japanese Peppermint Essential Oil

The cool, subtly sweet aroma of Japanese Peppermint essential oil can create a fresh, stimulating environment. Both Peppermint and Japanese Peppermint essential oils come from the same Mentha genus, but they’re different species. Japanese Peppermint has a higher concentration of menthol.

Blue Tansy Essential Oil

Blue tansy—also referred to as Moroccan tansy—is an annual, yellow-flowered Mediterranean plant found in northern Morocco.

Chamazulene, a chemical component in Blue Tansy essential oil, provides the essential oil’s characteristic indigo color. Camphor, another chemical component, may soothe the skin when applied topically. And the sabinene content may help diminish the appearance of blemishes.

Helichrysum Essential Oil

Helichrysum essential oil is sourced in Albania and Corsica, France. It comes from Helichrysum italicum—the helichrysum species most valued for its oil.

Helichrysum is a mountain wildflower in the daisy family. It has slim leaves and yellow blossoms. Unlike many herbs, only the blossoms yield the fragrant essential oil. It takes nearly five pounds of helichrysum flowers to produce a 5 mL bottle of Helichrysum essential oil.

sandalwood image sandalwood image

Sandalwood Essential Oil

Sandalwood essential oil is sourced from fragrant woods that can retain their aroma for decades. Both the wood and essential oil have been highly valued for centuries.

Sandalwood oil has traditionally been used as incense in religious ceremonies because of its sweet, woody, and grounding aroma. Sandalwood oil is also beneficial to the skin, reducing the appearance of skin imperfections and promoting a smooth complexion.
