Two Steps to Healthy, Clean Skin with doTERRA® SPA Body Scrub and Body Butter

For those who don’t have time to run to the spa, but want their skin to feel as if they had spent an hour being pampered, the doTERRA SPA Exfoliating Body Scrub paired with the Replenishing Body Butter is the perfect option. Exfoliating and hydrating your skin on a regular basis is key to healthy skin year-round.

There are several ways to exfoliate your skin including dry brushing. While dry brushing is stimulating to your circulation and removes the dead skin cells that make your skin look dull, the brushes and loofahs that dry brushing requires can be hard to keep free of bacteria. This is why salt or sugar scrubs have become so popular—all they require is a little extra time in the shower once a week or every other week, depending on your skin sensitivity.

To use these doTERRA luxury products, see our instructions below:

Step One: Exfoliate

Before you exfoliate, you will want to begin with wet, clean skin. Stand in the warm water for 5 to 10 minutes (you can use part of this time to wash your skin). This will prepare and soften your skin. Turn off the running water while you exfoliate. Apply the doTERRA Exfoliating Body Scrub in a circular motion, using only gentle pressure to avoid damaging your skin, paying most attention to areas that need it like your feet or elbows. Rinse well.

Step Two: Hydrate

Immediately after rinsing thoroughly, pat dry your skin. Apply doTERRA SPA Replenishing Body Butter. The thick and creamy texture of the body butter is intended to give your skin more intense moisture, and may take longer to sink into the skin than lotions do. To finish your routine, wear a robe for a half hour, and allow the body butter to absorb into and soften your skin.

General Advice to Remember

Don’t plan on exfoliating before you shave your legs—this can cause the skin to become irritated and give a stinging sensation.
Depending on your skin type, you may need to exfoliate more or less frequently. Sensitive skin will need exfoliating much less frequently, while oily, thicker skin may need it more often.

Cleansing your body before you exfoliate is done to remove any dirt or oil and keep it from getting on the new skin underneath. However, some might not like the feeling of their skin right after exfoliating, and want to cleanse afterward instead. Try either option and see what will work best for your needs.

You can purchase the scrub and body butter individually or in the doTERRA SPA Luxury Kit, which also comes with the doTERRA SPA Detoxifying Mud Mask.
