Destinations

Salalah, Oman

Salalah is the second-largest city in the Sultanate of Oman. During the monsoon season that lasts from June until September, the dusty desert landscape of Salalah completely transforms into a beautiful and lush greenery. The climate of the region and monsoons allow the city to grow vegetables and fruits such as coconuts and bananas.

The Land of Frankincense, originally called the Frankincense Trail, is a stop on the historic incense trade route that flourished between 7th century BC and 2nd century AD. In Oman, the area is known for its frankincense trees and the remains of a caravan oasis in the ruins of Khor Rori, which rose to prominence when sea trade between the Mediterranean and India became essential for the region. As the primary source of frankincense during the ancient period, Khor Rori was specifically built with the wish to control the prized resin in mind.

Petra, Jordan

Petra is a historical and archaeological city in Jordan, known best for the stone structures carved into towering rocks. Settled by the Nabataeans as early as 7,000 BC, the area was originally called Raqmu. The most widely known among the cities structures is Al-Khazneh, an elaborate temple and treasury of the now ancient Kingdom. Many will recognize the treasury from the climax of the film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. In addition to the treasury, visitors can discover inscriptions, ancient columns, narrow passageways, and a theatre! Petra is a symbol of Jordan, as well as Jordan's most-visited tourist attraction.
