doTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil is a natural carrier oil that readily absorbs into the skin, making it ideal for topical delivery. Frankincense essential oil comes from the resin of the frankincense tree. Harvesters make shallow cuts in the bark, from which resin seeps out. The resin is left for two weeks to crystallize, then it’s scraped off the tree. This process repeats over multiple weeks throughout the harvesting season. Resin tears are carefully cleaned and organized by size and color by harvesters before distillation.
Patchouli is a bushy herb from the mint family with stems reaching two to three feet in height and bearing small pink-white flowers. Patchouli essential oil comes from the leaf. Fresh leaves are air-dried for several days before distillation. When dried, they shrink to a third of their original weight. After drying, the leaves are distilled for at least eight hours.

Labdanum, a shrub with ancient allure and rich history, traces its origins to the rocky landscapes of the Mediterranean and Middle East. Known scientifically as Cistus ladaniferus, it’s revered for its aromatic resin. Ancient Egyptians used it as incense and in perfumes, and ancient Greeks incorporated it into wellness practices.
Labdanum essential oil is steam-distilled from the shrub’s leaves and twigs. It’s celebrated for its warm, rich aroma.
Often referred to as West Indian sandalwood, the amyris tree isn’t related to true sandalwood but has gained its nickname from the similarity in its aroma. Historically, the indigenous Caribbeans and Central Americans used amyris wood to build canoes and torches.

Before the sun crests the horizon, Bulgarian workers can be found in the fields harvesting delicate blooms. The labor-intensive production process has a low yield. It takes over 10,000 freshly picked rose blossoms to produce a 5 mL bottle of Rose essential oil. Because the petals are so delicate, the distillation process must happen the same day the flower is harvested.

Osmanthus—also referred known as “sweet olive”—is an evergreen Asian shrub from the same family as jasmine. Osmanthus has been cultivated in China for over 2,000 years. Osmanthus essential oil is rich in β-Ionone, which belongs to a group of compounds often referred to as rose ketones because of their presence in a variety of floral oils (especially Rose essential oil).
