Smoothie Cubes

When you need to quickly get out of the house in the morning but don’t want to skip breakfast, a smoothie is not usually your go-to. However, a smoothie is a great way to get many of the essential nutrients you’ll need to keep your body going throughout the day. When every second counts, it can simply take too long to get all your ingredients together and prepare. In this case, smoothie cubes are an excellent way to store a smoothie so you can take it on the go and have it thaw more quickly. Freezing your smoothie also means that it will taste as fresh as if it had just been made that day.

Smoothie cubes are also a good idea for those days when you have a bit more time. Instead of using plain ice, add even more nutrients into the mix by replacing them with a few smoothie cubes. Not only will they add a burst of flavor to a smoothie, our version adds in essential oils and other doTERRA supplements to give your body an extra boost.

We have two different versions for you to try out:

Ingredients

Green Machine Cubes
2 scoops TerraGreens®
1 cup kale
1 cup spinach
1 frozen banana
1 cup coconut milk

Berry Cubes

3–4 drops favorite essential oil (we used Slim & Sassy®)
1 cup frozen berries
1 frozen banana
1 cup coconut milk

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients together in blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Place the smoothie into silicon ice cube trays and store in freezer.
  3. When you want to make a smoothie, there are three ways to use smoothie cubes. One, allow the cubes to thaw slightly and pop them in the blender. Two, let them melt in your water bottle for an hour, and then shake it a few times. (This method is great when you’ve got to be out the door.) Three, use them in place of ice by adding 2–3 cubes to your smoothie for an extra boost of nutrients.

Tip: You can also make smoothie cubes from the leftovers in your blender when you’ve made too much.
