Dr. Hill is a pioneer in the essential oil world. He’s been pivotal to bringing essential oils into mainstream society over the past several decades. He’s also partnered with international physicians, scientists, and hospitals to integrate essential oils into modern health practices.
Most importantly, Dr. Hill has and continues to educate millions of Wellness Advocates worldwide in person and online, openly sharing his extensive knowledge on essential oils and related wellness products. He seeks to empower everyone to improve their families’ wellness with help from the doTERRA gifts of the earth. Dr. Hill has been instrumental in developing the vast line of doTERRA products and understands how properly using each product can maintain and improve wellness.
He—along with Dave, Emily, and Greg—brought the doTERRA vision to fruition in the company’s genesis days and continues to inspire all as doTERRA expands throughout the world. Dr. Hill is not only a physician and scientist, but he is also an exceptional educator and accomplished businessman. He is also a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Nicole has conducted essential oil research for over 25 years. She’s worked in quality control laboratories in the nutraceutical industry and academic research laboratories at the University of Utah and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Cancer Research Institute. Alongside her research, she’s taught courses in chemistry and biochemistry at Brigham Young University–Idaho and UNLV.
Nicole has been researching doTERRA essential oils since the company was formed in 2008. Currently, she’s the vice president of clinical research. Her primary research revolves around essential oil biochemistry related to human application, among other topics actively being pursued by the clinical research team. Nicole’s research has provided novel evidence of essential oil metabolic, proteomic, and epigenetic mechanisms.
Nichole earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in technical writing and a Master of Science in botany—both from Brigham Young University—and a second master of science in public health from Purdue University. She completed her doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, investigating essential oil metabolomics and mechanisms of action.
Nicole holds a certified principal investigator (CPI) accreditation with the Association of Clinical Research Professionals and a certified clinical research professional (CCRP) endorsement with the Society of Clinical Research Associates. She’s also a certified phlebotomy technician (CPT) with IV specialization, a certified clinical medical assistant (CCMA), and a certified electrocardiography technician (CET).
For nearly two decades, Alex has been at the forefront of designing and developing premium nutritional products, collaborating with experts globally to set new standards in the industry. His passion for nutrition drives him to constantly explore new discoveries and integrate them into innovative products.
Alex holds a Master of Science in physiology and developmental biology, as well as a Bachelor of Science in biology—both from Brigham Young University. He’s currently completing his doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. His research focuses on metabolic regulation, biochemistry, nutritional epigenetics, and health benefits of essential oil chemistry.
Known for his creativity and innovative approach, Alex continually seeks novel solutions to advance the field of nutraceuticals. And he remains a dedicated advocate for natural product solutions. He likes engaging with like-minded individuals worldwide, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for health and wellness products.
Outside of their professional pursuits, Alex, his wife Lisa, and their four children enjoy going on outdoor adventures, playing board games, and practicing the violin and piano. They also love exploring new cuisines.
Prabodh is the head of doTERRA essential oil science. He’s served as an essential oil expert for nearly 19 years, studying the chemical compositions of over 100,000 essential oils from all over the world and publishing over 200 research articles in peer-reviewed journals. He’s also been invited to several renowned conferences as a guest speaker.
Prabodh has a particular interest in essential oil adulteration detection using marker-based and chemometric analyses, having created the only known mass spectral library of synthetic markers. He’s currently developing the first fully automated GCMS adulteration analysis software, which will identify the purity percentage, origin, and mixed sources in essential oils. Prabodh is passionate about collaborating with academics, medical professionals, and growers to improve the standard of essential oil research and applications globally.
Prabodh pursued his master’s and doctorate degrees at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where he conducted pioneering essential oil research.
As the doTERRA director of product safety, Cécile is focused on essential oil safety and toxicology, specific chemical constituents, potential contaminants, and natural complex substance ingredients for cosmetic and nutritional use. Her team acts as scientific support, specialized in toxicology and product safety from product development to release and post-market surveillance.
Cécile has almost 20 years of experience in toxicology, quality, clinical and preclinical research. She’s worked in academia and the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and nutraceutical industries.
Cécile first trained as a laboratory technician in biology and biotechnology (BTS ANBIOTEH). She then earned her master of science in biotechnology from École Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Luminy (ESIL) in France. She obtained a PhD in biosciences from Cardiff University in the UK, where she also completed her postdoctoral research, collaborating with a local dietary supplement research company (Obsidian Research). Her work focused on the effects of omega-3 fatty acids and other dietary supplements when it comes to health concerns.
Prior to joining doTERRA, Cécile managed preclinical studies and early stage clinical trials for new topical analgesics at Vapogenix, a small pharmaceutical company in Houston, Texas. Her work experience also includes research positions at Pierre Fabre Dermo-Cosmétiques, Laboratoires Boiron, and CNRS in France, as well as AstraZeneca and Q-Chip in the UK.
Cécile enjoys mentoring junior scientists, helping others achieve their goals, and working with bright, diverse, and dedicated teams. She’s passionate about lifelong learning, continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality and safe products.
Brittany received her doctorate in plant-based natural products in 2014 from Rutgers University, New Jersey.
As the associate director of training for the Global Institute for BioExploration and a Fulbright fellow, she partnered with universities, nonprofits, and local communities for eight years. During this time, Brittany explored the cleansing and antioxidant activities of over 350 traditionally used plants in Bhutan, Chile, Cuba, Ecuador, Kenya, Namibia, and the United States.
Over the course of seven years in the personal care and supplements industries, Brittany’s research has focused on agricultural, extraction, and formulation technologies that enrich bioactive content in natural products and promote environmental sustainability.
Her mission at doTERRA is to leverage the amazing Co-Impact Sourcing® framework to develop essential oil–based products that benefit humanity, while also improving the wellness of the planet and communities. She’s passionate about building team leadership, collaborating, and creating lasting positive changes on the local level and global scale
Abdulla brings over 12 years of expertise to his role as managing scientist of nutraceuticals at doTERRA. He holds a Master of Science in food science from Utah State University and specializes in product development, quality assurance, and project management. His published research demonstrates his deep understanding of formulation, product strategy, and control processes.
Abdulla joined doTERRA in May 2017, assuming a pivotal role to ensure product integrity and regulatory compliance. His leadership over nutraceutical product development reflects a commitment to upholding rigorous standards and driving innovation. He’s helped develop beloved supplement products like doTERRA PB Restore, Adaptiv Calming Blend Capsules, Turmeric Dual Chamber Capsules, and more.
Beyond professional endeavors, Abdulla cherishes family time and exploration. He and his wife, Arianna, and their two children love traveling, cooking, and visiting grandparents in Bolivia and India.
Megan brings over 15 years of experience in quality control to doTERRA, including a decade as an analytical chemist. She holds a bachelor of science in chemistry from the University of Utah. Much of her professional background was focused on the botanical and dietary supplements industry.
Megan joined doTERRA as a chemistry manager in 2019. Currently as quality control director, she continues to oversee all quality control testing, including the evaluation of raw materials, in-process blends, and finished products.
She coordinates with other departments to review and approve the identity, quality, strength, potency, and composition of raw materials and finished products. Her comprehensive approach guarantees doTERRA products consistently meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Megan’s proactive management and keen attention to detail have been instrumental in maintaining the integrity of doTERRA products. Her ability to collaborate well with cross-functional teams has streamlined processes and enhanced the overall efficiency of quality control operations. Through her dedication and expertise, she continues to uphold the doTERRA commitment to excellence in the wellness industry.
Outside her professional life, Megan enjoys spending quality time with her family. She has a deep appreciation for Utah’s great outdoors: hiking, skiing, boating, and exploring the natural beauty of the region. Megan’s love for nature and adventure is a significant part of her life, providing a perfect balance to her dedicated career in quality control.
Hannah is the doTERRA quality control microbiology lab manager. She holds a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in chemistry from Utah Valley University. She’s a certified registered microbiologist through the National Registry of Certified Microbiologists (NRCM).
With over 16 years of experience in GMP companies and extensive expertise in quality control microbiology and chemistry laboratories, Hannah has been integral to doTERRA since 2015. She played a crucial role in establishing the QC microbiology lab and started the QC environmental monitoring lab in 2018.
Outside of work, Hannah enjoys teaching Acroyoga, paddleboarding, jet-skiing, and taking annual family trips to Lake Powell.
Ambika is the lead analytical chemist for the doTERRA essential oils science team. She’s been fascinated by aromatic plants since her chemistry graduate studies at Tribhuvan University in Nepal and has published over fifty research articles in international peer-reviewed journals.
Ambika has a special interest in chromatographic techniques for authenticating essential oils. For the last five years, she’s played a lead role in Source to You® report production for all doTERRA single oils.
Ambika enjoys watching movies, playing with her son, and traveling to new places.
Damian has spent most of his life researching nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle behaviors associated with human performance and optimal wellness. Prior to joining doTERRA, Damian worked in public health and as a strength and conditioning coach and nutritionist for collegiate and professional athletes.
In his time with doTERRA, Damian has helped write numerous essential oil scientific studies, served as the scientific editor for other publications, and represented the company as a healthy lifestyle expert. Currently, he’s focusing on metabolic health and is excited to help doTERRA expand its influence as a global leader in the wellness industry.
Damian has a doctorate in health sciences from A.T. Still University, where he researched weight. He also earned a Master of Science degree in exercise physiology, with an emphasis on athletic performance; a Bachelor of Science in nutritional science; and numerous professional certifications in exercise and nutrition.
Sheila is the quality control chemistry lab manager at doTERRA. She holds a Bachelor of Science in geology with minors in biology and in environmental science and policy from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York. She brings over a decade of experience in industries like electron microscopy, environmental testing, and pharmaceutical and nutraceutical third-party testing.
Sheila joined doTERRA in July 2019 as a chemist, and she now oversees quality control chemistry testing to ensure doTERRA products meet stringent standards for physical properties, composition, and contaminants. Her influence ensures proper product quality and compliance standards are met.
Sheila enjoys exploring new places with her husband and their two dogs, Reese and Finn. In her free time, she loves running, reading, and quilting.
Charlotte has over 15 years of laboratory and research experience in clinical and analytical science. She’s worked in clinical laboratories at ARUP and quality control laboratories and clinical settings at doTERRA.
She’s currently the clinical research manager. Charlotte’s research mainly revolves around the safety and efficacy of doTERRA essential oils, supplements, and personal care products related to human application, as well as any other research that could be pursued by doTERRA.
Charlotte earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Brigham Young University–Hawaii in biochemistry and a Master of Science in pharmaceutical science at Roseman University in Utah. She’s also a certified phlebotomy technician (CPT).
