Hi, everyone! I'm Liz Freeman. I'm a performance advocate for doTERRA. I'm a professional skydiver and wingsuit BASE jumper. Today I'm I talk to you a little bit about my favorite essential oils and how I use them every day to promote a healthy lifestyle.

doTERRA Balance®

So, the first oil I'm going to talk about today is my very favorite oil, Balance. It's a grounding blend. Every morning when I wake up, I put this on immediately. It calms my mental chatter, and realigns my body completely. I put a little bit on my wrist, like this, and a little bit on my neck and then the tops of my feet. So, it kind of gives the whole symmetry to start my day. So every day I wake up; I put on my Balance; I realign everything; I feel great.

doTERRA On Guard®

The second oil I put on is On Guard. I mean everyone loves On Guard products—the toothpaste, the hand sanitizer—it's awesome. But for athletes, it's super important because we travel all the time. I mean I travel nine months out of the year, so it's really cool to have a product that helps me get off the airplane and be ready to go and get back in the game. It's a protective blend so if you're traveling to countries you've never been before and you feel really exposed, it's a nice essential oil to apply to the wrist, get you ready for your next big adventure.

Peppermint

So Balance, On Guard, and then, of course, every athlete's favorite oil—Peppermint. We love Peppermint. So, my three main uses for Peppermint. I like to use it to wake up in the morning to calm my butterflies in my stomach before a jump, and it promotes a cooling sensation too. So, in the summer if you’re hiking and you're going up the mountain, you can spray a little Peppermint oil on you and it kind of feels cool; it's nice. But if you're an athlete, it's definitely a go to.

Honorable Mentions

So the first three oils I talked about—Balance, On Guard, and Peppermint—those are my favorite, of course, but I have some honorable mentions that need to be said: Litsea, PastTense, and Frankincense.

Litsea

Litsea is a new oil that I just started using this year because I was looking for a citrus blend to kind of invigorate me in the morning, to put the diffuser, to also wear if I'm doing an event and I want to smell nice you know. So Litsea is really great. I love that aroma. It smells beautiful, wakes you up in the morning, and it kind of complements all the other oils I wear too so it kind of makes a nice blend when you head out of the house in the morning.

PastTense®

Past tense, as well, that was one of the first oils I tried. Like I said, I have a lot of anxious feelings and mental chatter, so just when you have that stressful day or you have a big project coming up and a lot of loose ends I love just putting a little PastTense on to just calm down take a step back, breathe, and focus on your end goal.

Frankincense

Lots of people are dying about Frankincense these days. You hear about it on the internet; you hear about it at Christmas time. It's a great oil. It's really fascinating. I highly recommend just doing some research on it and looking at all the topical uses for it.

In 2017, I was base jumping in the mountains in Italy and I injured my back and gave myself a nice little scar on my face. Ever since then I've used Frankincense daily to soothe my back and to heal a little bit those skin imperfections I received during that happy little accident. So that's been really helpful.

I just love the way it smells to. It smells very ancient and beautiful, and I just love it. A lot of my friends really like it too. So, there's something to be said about the fragrance of Frankincense. I don't know necessarily if that helps in an athletic lifestyle, but I definitely want to mention it because I use it every day, and I love it.

Deep Blue® Rub

As a professional skydiver, it takes a lot of physical activity to do my job. I can do 10 jumps a day on average. Also, BASE jumping in the mountains—you have to hike up those mountains to get to the top. So sometimes we're hiking 3000, 6000, 9000 feet a day just to get to the top of the mountain where we can fly off. With all of that endurance comes a little bit of discomfort. Which brings me to the big kahuna of essential oils the Deep Blue Rub. I hope you're laughing right now because everyone loves this stuff. Every athlete I know has a bottle of it or asks me how they can get a bottle of it.

I was first introduced to Deep Blue when I was packing parachutes at a skydiving center and we were packing 30 parachutes a day. And this girl was like, “Oh your neck is a little bit sore from carrying all those parachutes. Do you want to try this stuff? It's from this company I'm working for doTERRA.” She pulls out the deep blue. Oh my goodness. It was amazing. Not only did it cool me down—it was in the middle of the summer—but it also it just soothed my neck. So after, I just kind of, I was like, “Can get a bottle of that? How did you? What is this stuff?” And she gave me the story about doTERRA and essential oils, and so I started doing my research and trying other oils, but this this was the one that got me got me into it.

Mito2Max®

So every year that I work with doTERRA as a performance advocate I love to try some of their new oils or new supplements and add it to my lifestyle, because every time I do it actually ends up being really cool and really awesome. So, this year I challenged myself to start taking the Mito2Max. It's supposed to increase energy and stamina when you are doing a lot of physical activity. And since my entire life is physical activity, I'm pretty excited about trying this out.

Cool guys. Thanks for listening. I hope you enjoyed hearing about some of my favorite essential oils and you go out and find some that you love because they changed my life, and I know they're going to change yours.
