Hi guys, how are you? My name is Christine Thethi. I'm here today to speak to you about breathing easy at night. This is something that I know all of us in one form or another do experience. I wanted to share with you three of my favorite oils that I love to use in our home. I'm hoping that me sharing this will help you in your home.
The first oil that I want to share with you is Eucalyptus oil. This oil, you guys, is a game changer for helping you to open up your airways. One of the reasons that your airways might not be fully opening could be seasonal discomfort. It could be environmental threats in your area, or it could be on the other spectrum and it could be emotional. If you have throughout your day some heaviness that's on your chest, that might lead you to not being able to breathe easy at night. Eucalyptus is definitely one of those oils that can help you to help open up your airways and help with relaxation as well.
So how I use this oil is by simply opening up the bottle, smelling it—smells amazing—putting a drop of this in your hands, rubbing your hands together, and breathing it in. Another awesome way is diffusing this oil. I love adding about two to four drops in our diffuser before we go to bed at night. And one awesome tip that I have for you is if you're having a shower in the evening, I love adding in a few drops of Eucalyptus to the base of the shower. It is honestly like a steam diffuser with Eucalyptus and it smells amazing. So not only does it smell good, but you're also getting the benefits of the opening of your airways, which in turn is going to help you breathe better at night.
The next oil that I love is doTERRA Breathe®, which is the respiratory blend. In this blend, we have Laurel Leaf, Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Lemon, Cardamom and Ravensara. It’s just very similar to Eucalyptus how it helps to open up your airways. It also has the emotional benefits of opening up your heart. If you are someone who has gone through your day and the heaviness is weighing on you, I would highly recommend putting a drop of this over your heart before you go to sleep. Another good spot is on the back of your neck as well, and then also diffusing it in your diffuser and/or putting a drop into your hands and using your hands as the diffuser and breathing that in. So, a great oil for opening up the airways but also opening up your heart as well.
Leaning more into the emotional side of it, my last oil that I want to share with you is doTERRA Peace®. This is doTERRA’s reassuring blend and this blend is just like that. It basically creates peace, calmness, and reassurance in your life. It’s a beautiful oil to use if you are someone who does have that emotion on your on your heart. Place it over your heart, put a drop in your hand, breathe it in, and adding this into your diffuser will definitely help you breathe easier at nighttime.
Now, if you are someone who has children and has little ones in your home, I want to give you some quick little safety tips to use these oils on your children. One of my top things that I love doing is having a bath. I like creating that open space, that calmness, right away for the children. I love adding in a few drops of Lavender oil and Eucalyptus oil into a cup of Epsom salts, mix it together, and then I put that into the bath.
After the kids are out, we head to the bedroom. I always grab our doTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil. This is a beautiful carrier oil that you want to mix your essential oils with before applying to your children. Depending on the age of your child, you could be adding about one tablespoon to one teaspoon of carrier oil before applying your drop of essential oil. So how I apply it on my kids is they lay on their tummy, I add in the carrier oil, add my drop of essential oil of choice—whatever it is that I'm using to help open up their airways—and then applying it along their spine, the bottom of their feet, and on their chest as well. You don't have to do all three. You can kind of play with it. That's a beautiful thing about these oils is that you can actually play with it and see what works best for you. Diffusing is always key as well. We diffuse every single night with these beautiful oils.
There you go! I'm hoping that by sharing these quick little tips with you, it will not only help you get breathing easier at nighttime, but also for your family and friends and anyone else in your life. Thank you so much, and I hope you have a beautiful day.
