Beth, thank you so much for being here with us today.

Beth Wood: Yes, I'm so excited!

doTERRA: This is a topic that I am very excited to talk about because I think there are a lot of misconceptions that exist. And my first question is, where do you think that the perception that a natural wellness lifestyle is expensive comes from?

Beth: So in my journey, I feel that it is social media and influencers. They're all over the place. There's no routines. There's no system to follow to be able to form a budget. What I love about the monthly wellness box with doTERRA is you can choose your amount and items based on your family's needs.

doTERRA: Absolutely. You mentioned kind of a budget and making sure we have a budget. How do we make sure we stick to a budget when it comes to, say, natural eating?

Beth: So meal plan, meal prep, even if it's items like boiled eggs, cut up fruit, veggies, washed lettuce, have things ready to throw something together. Even working from home, this is sometimes what throws us all off, not being prepared. So let's be prepared.

Buy the perimeter of the store, not the aisles. All the boxes and the prepackaged items are no good for the body. Don't shop for organic products from huge stores. Try stores like Aldi, Trader Joe's, and recently this year, I've joined Thrive Market. The convenience of ordering online, sticking to a plan, and not being tempted to buy extra items you don't need is key. I'm amazed at all of my savings.

Shop your local farmers markets for seasonal produce. They are absolutely amazing, and you are supporting local businesses at the same time.

doTERRA: Absolutely. And I love that it's all about kind of planning beforehand. I know for me, I can never go to the grocery store hungry or everything just goes out the window. So sticking to that plan and having it is great.

Beth: Yes, that chocolate bar always wants to call your name when you don’t need it.

doTERRA: Absolutely. Now, Beth, how can we switch our toxic products to natural ones without breaking the bank?

Beth: Redo one room at a time. Don't overdo. Even though you want it all, just meet the needs and concerns that you're trying to deal with at that time. Try one new product a month so you do venture out and possibly find something that works better than what you've been using.

An example, say you're having some back and neck discomfort. Using Deep Blue® Rub, things are going good, but you try a detox bath, and it ups your whole comfort zone.

Another one would be switching out your dishwashing pods. You try the dishwashing pods, you fall in love with them. You just upgraded and took away one toxic product to be able to live a more easy and simpler lifestyle.

doTERRA: Absolutely. I love that. And I love the thought of going room by room or not doing it all at once. But just as things run out, you replace them with something a little bit better, a little bit cleaner, and you can notice that difference in your life.

Beth: Absolutely.

doTERRA: And what are the top three principles that you stick to when living a budget wellness lifestyle?

Beth: One, I love to stick to my means. I don't compare my journey to anyone but myself because it has to be for me and my family.

Two, I don't continue to buy the items that I'm trying to replace. In my opinion, once I know better, why continue to do bad? If I have to buy it, then I'm going to buy the better product, the better quality, not continue in that toxic circle.

And three, keep it simple. Turning products like vinegar, baking soda, Lemon, or Spearmint essential oil in some of your fondest DIY items to use throughout the house. Some of my favorites are toilet pods, fabric boosters, oven cleaner, shower cleaner. Cutting all of those cleaners out and just using those basic items allows the body to decrease the toxic load levels. And it is better for your overall health.

doTERRA: Absolutely. And I love what you said there that you can't compare to anyone else. And I think that's hard where we have social media and like you said, all these influencers that are showing you their perfect, clean lives. It has to be what works for you and your family.

Beth: That's right.

doTERRA: Now, Beth, my final question for you is what are your favorite wellness lifestyle products to use every single day?

Beth: So obviously essential oils are my little brown gems, and I don't know what I would do without them. Even before the call, I was putting Frankincense and Spearmint underneath my tongue, just to make sure that that was that confident speech and like I had everything ready. But to talk about everyday life, I mean, the Spa Line on the doTERRA On Guard® line, the Veráge® line, even the abode® line, literally every day it’s my cleaning, hygiene, skin care, and overall body support.

doTERRA: Absolutely. I love all of those. And like I said, when you make those switches, you can really notice the difference.

Beth: Oh, absolutely.

doTERRA: You can tell that you are bringing fewer harmful things into your home, around your family. And it's amazing.

Beth: Yes, ma’am.
