Origin: a Latin derivative
meaning "Gift of the Earth."
It’s been almost six months since our new Eucalyptus essential oil reformulation officially hit the shelves and it’s packed with everything you need to create a calm atmosphere this summer amidst all the chaos. This mightier blend in a 15 mL bottle will provide all the benefits you know and love, now with more consistent chemistry to support a more consistent YOU.
There is 700+ known species of Eucalyptus. Each species varies in their own chemistry and aroma. The importance of chemistry is that it dictates the function of the plant and its aroma. With doTERRA’s new Eucalyptus blend, there are now five species of Eucalyptus contained in one bottle: Eucalyptus Radiata, Eucalyptus Globulus, Eucalyptus Kochii, Eucalyptus Polybractea, and Eucalyptus Loxophleba Subspecies.
The compound 1,8 cineole (also known as Eucalyptol) is a natural monoterpene that is commonly found in many plants. While several plant species contain this chemical compound, 1,8 cineole is an important component in Eucalyptus to make it function and smell the way it does. There are different percentage levels of 1,8 cineole in the hundreds of different Eucalyptus plants. For an essential oil to reap the best benefits for usage, the content percentages of 1,8 cineole in different Eucalyptus plants must all be consistent with each other. The new doTERRA Eucalyptus blend has a higher and standardized concentration of 1,8 cineole to 70% or higher.
Raising the 1,8 cineole content with the different Eucalyptus species in this essential oil blend will offer more consistent, stronger effects when you use it. Registered nurse and Wellness Advocate Anne Calhoun said “This new blend offers consistency. It’s Eucalyptus! Just brighter.”
This higher 1,8 cineole content in Eucalyptus will offer a stronger, sweeter aroma of Eucalyptus, and support a more cooling and refreshing feeling for you.
While the summer months are times to have fun, sometimes there’s no schedule. Events, days at the beach, traveling, camping, or unplanned social activities can cause days to become hectic. In fact, you might find yourself wanting a little extra something to stay on track of things throughout your day.
Here are some ways you can use doTERRA Eucalyptus to make your summer days feel less hectic and more consistent.
Attending a wedding, friendly get-together, or romantic date this summer? Celebrate and set the mood with flowers and Eucalyptus! Eucalyptus can be used to enhance the smell of your floral arrangements for any bride, mom, friend, or partner. Use one to two drops in a spray bottle of distilled water, and spray onto any floral arrangement, in an open room, or on home décor like pillows, carpets, or couches.
In addition to the amazing aroma, Eucalyptus may have greater cleansing properties due to the higher concentration of 1,8 cineole. Apply one to three drops of Eucalyptus in a spray bottle of water and soap or white vinegar. Then spray this mixture onto surfaces such as a microwave, oven, countertops, and sink for a refreshed environment. Don’t forget to take in the sweet smell of Eucalyptus while you’re tidying up!
Eucalyptus provides a cooling sensation when used topically. Add one to two drops of Eucalyptus essential oil to your hands, rub them together, place them over your nose, and inhale deeply. This can contribute to the feeling of open airways. You can also use Eucalyptus in the shower after a hot day. Place one to two drops of Eucalyptus essential oil on the floor of your shower for a cooling self-care experience.
With the new species and higher 1,8 cineole concentration of Eucalyptus, it is the perfect addition to your doTERRA regimen to stay organized and consistent. “Consistent chemistry means consistent results,” says Calhoun. Keep your summer days happy and bright with this mighty and consistent Eucalyptus blend.
