Essential Oil Bubble Bath

Taking a bubble bath can be a fun treat for kids, or part of a relaxing night in for adults. However, most commercial bubble baths are full of artificial chemicals and fragrances and can be irritating to your skin. To reduce the chemicals in your home, but still enjoy the benefits of a bubble bath, we recommend making your own bubble bath with essential oils and other ingredients that are gentle on your skin.

While you could add essential oil directly to your bath, essential oils are not water soluble, meaning they won't dissolve in water alone. To resolve this issue, you would normally add essential oils to epsom salt or soap and add it to the water. In this case, the other ingredients in our DIY bubble bath help disperse the oil throughout the water in the same way.

Including an essential oil in bath time is a wise choice when you want to create a specific atmosphere. For example, for a relaxing bath, use Lavender or doTERRA Serenity® essential oil. For a rejuvenating bath, use Citrus Bliss® to wake up.
Ingredients
1 cup unscented castile soap
½ cup vegetable glycerin
2 tablespoons water
15 drops preferred doTERRA essential oil
Instructions
  1. Combine castile soap, glycerin, and water into glass bowl.
  2. Add essential oils.
  3. Stir until well combined.
  4. Pour into glass container.
  5. To use, add ¼–½ cup of the essential oil bubble bath mixture to warm, running bath water.
Note: These bubbles are not going to provide big fluffy bubbles that last a long time since it doesn't contain the synthetic ingredients that create the high amounts of lather or foam. However, this chemical-free bath will provide enough bubbles for a relaxing bath you will enjoy even more.
