Create a Vision

When you’re creating a vision for your life and your business, the possibilities are seemingly endless. So how do you sort through everything you could do to find what you want, and need, to do? A great place to start is by making a dream board that echoes your “why.” When you have a visual representation of the way you want your life to be, it will provide daily inspiration to help you live the life you’ve imagined.

Make Your List

To get started on your dream board, put together a list of everything you’ve ever thought about reaching for, no matter how far-fetched it might seem. So you want to stand on the Great Wall of China or find the cure for cancer. Don’t limit yourself. You’ll have the opportunity later to select what resonates most with your vision and will go on your board. Include themes like success, adventure, health, and relationships, not to mention things and people that evoke positive feelings you want to recreate.

Find the Fun
With your dream list ready, it’s time to get your hands dirty. Set the mood for a creative space. Play your favorite music and diffuse essential oils that help you feel inspired. Gather photos of and trinkets from adventures you’ve had in the past and want to experience again in the future. Look through magazines for quotes and images you love. Your board will be made up of the things you want to see every day— postcards, sticky notes, the menu from your favorite restaurant—the things that inspire you most.

Simplify
The next step is to simplify. Listen to your heart when choosing what things will make the final cut. You want your dream board to speak to your purpose and vision, so only keep things that clearly illustrate that.

Assemble the Treasures
Once you determine what things inspire you most, you can put them all together in one place. Glue, pin, or tape the things you’ve collected to your dream board in a style that suits you best. Leave space between your items, or cluster them together in groups.

Hang Your Dream Board
Hang your dream board in a visible place, one where you’ll see it often throughout the day. Maybe that’s in your cubicle at work or on the fridge in your kitchen. No matter where you decide to keep your dream board, let it inspire you to achieve your dreams!
