Essential Oil Bubble Bath

Whether it’s choppy waters with toys or a sophisticated soak, bubble baths are for everyone—no matter your age! But a quick way to make your bath less relaxing is knowing that most commercial bubble baths are full of artificial chemicals and fragrances that can irritate your skin. Yeah, no thank you! Fortunately, making your own essential oil bubble bath is an easy way to enjoy the fun and relaxing elements of warm, soapy bubbles enriched by naturally sourced ingredients and aromas instead of synthetics. Our recipe for this do-it-yourself essential oil bubble bath is gentle on the skin and customizable to perfection with your favorite essential oil aromas.

  • 1 cup unscented castile soap
  • ½ cup vegetable glycerin
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 15 drops of your favorite doTERRA essential oil
Recommended Aromas: Lavender oil, doTERRA Serenity® oil, Citrus Bliss® oil, or Peppermint oil.

  1. Combine castile soap, glycerin, water, and essential oils in glass bowl and stir until fully combined.
  2. Transfer into a glass container with a tight-seal lid to store.
  3. To use, add ¼–½ cup of bubble bath mixture to warm, running bath water.

Note: These bubbles may not quite resemble those big, fluffy bubbles you’re used to. That’s because this recipe doesn't contain any of the synthetic ingredients that make commercial bubble bath formulas froth. Instead, this essential oil bubble bath creates just enough bubbles for a luxurious, synthetic-free bath that feels cleaner, safer, and more soothing.

Once you have this essential oil bubble bath prepared, all that’s left to do is draw up a warm bath, sink in, and enjoy. When you hand-pick both ingredients and aromas you love and trust, you might be amazed at just how rewarding a simple soak can become.
