Origin: a Latin derivative
meaning "Gift of the Earth."
An essential oil derived from the roots of a flowering plant, Spikenard essential oil provides an earthy, musty aroma. Spikenard essential oil carries gentle surface cleansing properties, making it excellent for skincare use, and also offers an uplifting yet relaxing aroma popular in massage.
Spikenard essential oil is sourced in Nepal through the doTERRA Co-Impact Sourcing® program.
Why should I add Spikenard essential oil to my collection? Like Vetiver oil, Turmeric oil, Ginger oil, and other root essential oils, Spikenard essential oil has musty undertones that give it an overall grounding aroma. While Spikenard oil still holds light, invigorating aromatic constituents like these root essential oils, it also has a more soothing, relaxing aromatic undertone than many of its peers. Additionally, Spikenard essential oil provides a uniquely soothing, softening, and gentle skin-cleansing effect to the skin, making it an ideal addition to skincare routines.
