dōTERRA Wellness Advocate partners with the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation™ to encourage hope for a better future

When doTERRA Wellness Advocate Jenna Ross learned about the efforts of the nonprofit group Florida Abolitionist, she thought that it only made sense to get involved. Florida Abolitionist works to spread awareness about the problem of human trafficking, while also offering resources for those who have escaped the sex trade. After meeting with representatives from Florida Abolitionist, Ross realized that her knowledge of essential oils could help.

As Ross began volunteering with Florida Abolitionist, she saw how much the victims of sex trafficking appreciated essential oils. Wanting to bring this comfort to all of the women in the Florida Abolitionist program, she reached out to the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation™ for help. In August of 2015, the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation provided a donation of product worth $1,000, while other doTERRA Wellness Advocates donated nearly $2,000 in product. These donations provided helpful products like oils and diffusers for those in need of a positive influence after a life of human trafficking.

Ross says, “The donations let them know that other people care about them enough to give of their own product and money to support what they are going through.”

Many do not realize that human trafficking is still a major problem in the world, and even fewer people are aware of the severity of this problem in the United States. Florida Abolitionist works to end modern-day slavery by spreading awareness about sex trafficking and related problems. While the organization strives to put an end to this issue and educate community members, they also focus on rehabilitation and recovery for those who have been victims of human slavery. Their programs aim to provide a safe place for victims to move on from past experiences, and deal with the effects in a healthy way.

With help from the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation and other generous doTERRA Wellness Advocates, Florida Abolitionist has been able to help human trafficking victims by providing the gift of essential oils. Ross says, “We do a lot of things in life that are not that important. When you are helping another human being regain their life, you not only feel your worth and ability to impact the world around you, you also realize how much every life matters.”
