Mint Chocolate Chip Smoothie with Peppermint Oil


Smoothies are refreshing and satisfying, and they’re a great way to get an extra serving of both fruits and veggies in one. On top of that, they are so easy to make that you’ll be fighting urges to throw another one in the blender before you’ve even finished your first (or is that just us?).

Aside from packing your smoothie full of fruits and veggies, we have a secret to making the perfect smoothie—essential oils! The right essential oils can give your favorite smoothie recipes a burst of flavor, and there are tons of essential oils to use. Right now, we’re loving Peppermint oil! Its refreshingly minty taste and invigorating aroma are the perfect addition to a morning, on-the-go smoothie. This easy smoothie recipe uses just a hint of mint from Peppermint essential oil and a tasteful touch of semi-sweet chocolate to create the ultimate green smoothie treat! We’re positive you’ll love it.

Ingredients

  • Handful of mixed greens, kale, or spinach
  • 1 cup almond milk (sweetened or unsweetened)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 3 tablespoons semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1-2 drops Peppermint essential oil
  • Stevia, to taste

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients to a blender, and blend until completely smooth.
  2. Taste, and add more Peppermint oil if desired.
  3. Garnish with chocolate shavings and fresh mint leaves, and enjoy!
