Creamsicle Lip Balm with Wild Orange Essential Oil

Kiss dry lips goodbye with this sunny DIY Wild Orange essential oil lip balm recipe. Lip balm is a must-have, but unfortunately, store-bought versions can contain artificial fragrances and salicylic acid that can actually irritate lips and cause additional dryness. Since dryness isn’t the result you want after moisturizing, opting for a naturally sourced lip balm that contains ingredients you trust is the right way to go.

By being selective about the naturally sourced ingredients you use and combining them with the beautiful aromas of essential oils, you can step out into the sun armed with a lip balm that soothes and smooths.  With this easy-to-make home recipe and the fresh flavour of a favourite summer treat, you’ll have soft, summery lips in no time.

Supplies

  • 1 tbsp beeswax
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • ½ tbsp shea butter
  • ½ tbsp cocoa butter
  • 20 drops Wild Orange oil
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Place everything but Wild Orange oil and vanilla extract into a glass measuring cup or bowl.
  2. Fill a large saucepan with one to one and a half inches of water. Bring to boil.
  3. Once boiling, place the glass measuring cup in the center of the saucepan.
  4. Stir every few minutes until ingredients have melted and are combined.
  5. Once all wax is melted, remove from heat and let sit for three minutes.
  6. Add vanilla extract and Wild Orange oil.
  7. Pour mixture into lip balm containers and let cool until solid.

Apply a smooth, silky layer to lips whenever they’re craving an extra spot of moisture. Indulge yourself with the sweet orange creamsicle flavour, or package it as a gift to share the summery goodness.
