DIY Foot Lotion with Wintergreen Essential Oil


From grocery shopping, to playing with the kids, to working a busy shift—your feet go through a lot in a day. If you seem to find yourself always on your feet, you deserve to take a step back and enjoy a night of pedi-pampering using this DIY foot lotion with Wintergreen essential oil. Because it contains the chemical constituent methyl salicylate, Wintergreen oil provides a unique warming and soothing effect to the skin accompanied by a sweet, minty aroma.

For an extra soothing experience, try adding a few drops of Tea Tree essential oil to the lotion. Delight in the uplifting, energizing aroma of Wintergreen oil mixed with a hint of refreshing, earthy Tea Tree undertones, and gently apply to dry or cracked feet.

Instructions

  1. In small glass container, combine all ingredients, except essential oils.
  2. Place the glass container in saucepan with about 3 cm of boiling water to gently melt the combined ingredients.
  3. Stir ingredients until soft completely mixed (around 5–10 minutes).
  4. Once melted, remove from heat and let rest 3 minutes.
  5. Add essential oils and stir.
  6. Allow mixture cool completely until solid. To quicken process, place in refrigerator.
  7. Once solid, use an electric mixer to whip lotion.
  8. Gradually come to high speed and whip for 3–4 minutes or until light and fluffy.
  9. Place in container. To use, rub on heels to help keep them looking soft and smooth.
