True Grit Foundation Serves Family Battling Cancer

doTERRA donated to the True Grit Foundation’s live auction to help a family fighting cancer for the second time. The proceeds from the event will help to relieve this young family’s hospital and medicine expenses.
When their little baby, Graham, was diagnosed with cancer, Nathan and Sadie Schanz spent the following months fighting cancer alongside their little one. Sadie moved to the hospital to be with Graham as he experienced infection, swelling, cardiac arrest, and intense rounds of chemotherapy. To aid Graham and the Schanz family, the True Grit Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, was formed to help their family pay the many hospital and medical expenses.
Now, after Graham was declared cancer free, Sadie has become ill and has been diagnosed with an aggressive malignant tumor in her brain. Sadie has recently undergone surgery to remove most of the tumor, but because of the malignant nature of the cancer, she continues to fight this cancer and attends daily radiation appointments.
In an effort to support and lift some of the burdens of the Schanz family, the True Grit Foundation is hosting A Night of Love benefit. This black-tie event will be held on Feb. 20 at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in Salt Lake City. The evening will include a delicious dinner and a private concert by the talented musician Alex Boyé. True Grit will also be hosting the evening’s live auction. As the event is centered on helping the Schanz family fight cancer, doTERRA was happy to donate to the live auction to support this family in their time of need.
All of the proceeds made from A Night of Love event and the donations given on their website will go directly to the Schanz family. These generous donations will be used to pay for the numerous visits to the hospital and will also help relieve medicine costs. Through the help of the True Grit Foundation, and donations like that of doTERRA, the Schanz family can find comfort knowing that they are not fighting their cancer battle alone and they have a community supporting them during this trying time.
