dōTERRA Donates to Cystic Fibrosis Benefit Dinner in Salt Lake City

The Taste of Utah benefit dinner for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on Nov. 16, 2013 brought over 20 Utah restaurants together to provide fine cuisine samples to attendees. The benefit dinner included a food tasting and live auction to provide funds to the Utah and Idaho chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. doTERRA International donated monetary resources to support the cause, and made a product donation for the live auction.

 

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation works to help those with cystic fibrosis by funding research and drug development, and providing personal treatment and specialized care. Cystic fibrosis is considered a life-threatening genetic disease, as it causes frequent lung infections and seriously inhibits breathing ability. Aside from the regular discomfort of symptoms like coughing, shortness of breath, and wheezing, cystic fibrosis can lead to other infections like pneumonia or bronchitis. Over time, cystic fibrosis can lead to complications including damaged airways (bronchiectasis), chronic infections, pneumonia, bronchitis, and even digestive problems like nutritional deficiencies and diabetes.¹

 

Like most affiliates, the Utah and Idaho chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation relies on volunteers to help with community outreach, events, and spreading awareness. Events like Taste of Utah provide community members with a chance to enjoy a lovely evening, while supporting efforts for finding a cure for cystic fibrosis and helping those currently living with the disease.

 

With help from Utah restaurants, community members, and local corporations like doTERRA, the Taste of Utah event provided funds to help the foundation in their quest to cure cystic fibrosis and allow all those with the disease to lead full, productive lives.
