Supporting new members

You’ve spent days even weeks preparing for your class. You had a number of people attend and it was a huge success. The best part was that you even had a few people enrol to join your team! Your new enrolees know a bit about doTERRA but how can you support them through their journey? After all, they could be people you recently met at the grocery store or on your daily walk. You will need to find out what they are looking for and what they want to focus on. This will ultimately assist you in supporting them. Here are a few ways to help get you started.

  1. Go back to the basics – It’s exciting times when you enrol a new team member and as much as you want to start delving into the business it’s a good time to step back. Your new member might know a little bit about doTERRA but they will still need some guidance on how doTERRA works.

The day after your class, follow up and have a one-on-one session where you can discuss topics such as:
    - How to use the doTERRA products
    - doTERRA’s Monthly Promotions or any new products we have on offer and how they can access these.
    - Going through the website to show them where they can find product information, blogs and resources.
    - Showing them how to place an order through VO.

Your new enrolee might be able to do this on their own but having someone go through the basics will help them warm up to you and become more comfortable.

  2. Tools & Resources - Once your team member has had some time getting to know the products and they’re more open to the business, a great way to make sure that they’re supported is to give them the training they need. Show your new member the helpful websites that you use for information or go through the Live, Share & Build Guides. Teach them about doTERRA’s Loyalty Rewards Program and go through our different Compensation Plans. The more they can understand how doTERRA works, the easier it will be for them to start their own business. Keep it simple and go back to basics, continued education is key!

  3. Support – Once you’ve shown your new team member the ropes, it’s important to follow up and stay consistent. Respond to their emails or messages and answer any questions they may have. Consistency can be hard, but it’s a great way to show them that you mean what you say and that your team is the team to be on. If you tell a team member you will support them, stick to that promise. This can help you build a stronger connection allowing them to feel more comfortable to be part of your team.

Enrolling as a new member can be overwhelming but if you can go back to the basics, provide your new enrolee with tools & resources and support them along the way, it will help them gain more confidence which can lead to a successful business.
