Tangerine Essential Oil

Tangerines are among the most widely cultivated citrus fruits worldwide—second in popularity only to the sweet orange. Tangerines are believed to have been developed in Morocco, receiving their name from the stylish seaport city of Tangier, where visiting Europeans and Americans first became enamored with this tasty fruit in the 1700s.

The sweetest of the citrus fruits, tangerines are a hybrid variety of mandarin, with a stronger flavor than sweet oranges. The small, juicy fruits have a thin peel, which is where the essential oil resides. It takes six pounds of tangerine peels to produce one 15 mL bottle of essential oil—varying by season, region, year, and other variables. Sourced in Brazil, doTERRA Tangerine essential oil has a sweet, tangy, and uplifting aroma.

Rich in limonene and other antioxidants, ingested Tangerine essential oil helps protect liver cells from oxidative stress and the limonene supports healthy bile flow, based on preclinical research.*

Rosemary Essential Oil

Rosemary essential oil is steam-distilled from the leaves and stem of the rosemary plant. Rosemary has frequently been used to flavor stuffing, pork, lamb, chicken, and turkey. Geranium Essential Oil

A member of the Pelargonium genus, the geranium plant is grown for its beauty and serves as a staple of the perfume industry. There are over 200 varieties of Pelargonium flowers, but only a few are used for essential oil.

Geranium essential oil use dates back to ancient Egypt, when Egyptians used it to beautify the skin and hair. In the Victorian era, fresh geranium leaves were placed at formal dining tables as decorative pieces and were consumed as a fresh sprig. The edible leaves and flowers are often used in desserts, cakes, jellies, and teas.

Geranium essential oil brings a balancing, harmonizing influence when consumed. It helps soothe the nervous system and supports liver and kidney function according to preclinical research.*

Ginger Essential Oil

Ginger essential oil is derived from the fresh rhizome of the ginger plant. Ginger is planted in spring and harvested in fall or winter, when it’s mature. The essential oil is steam-distilled.

It takes between one to two pounds of ginger rhizome to make a 15 mL bottle of essential oil. A rhizome—different from a root—is the subterranean stalk from which a plant’s root system grows.

doTERRA Ginger essential oil is truly unique. Many companies distill their oil from fully dried rhizomes, while doTERRA distills Ginger essential oil from fresh rhizomes shortly after harvest. This difference results in better chemical and aroma profiles.

Juniper berries have been used for centuries in cleansing and purifying rituals, as well as meditation practices. Their use can be traced to Old Testament times.

When ingested, Juniper Berry essential oil supports gentle kidney cleansing and encourages healthy elimination of excess water and metabolic waste, based on preclinical research and traditional use.*

Cilantro Essential Oil

Cilantro essential oil is steam-distilled from the green, feathery leaves of the annual herb Coriandrum sativum. The plant can grow up to 20 inches high and produces pale pink or white flowers that blossom in clusters.

To produce high-quality Cilantro oil, the herb is planted every two to three weeks starting in late spring and harvested about a month after planting.

Traditionally used for full-body cleansing, Cilantro essential oil, according to experimental research, supports natural detoxification and provides antioxidant protection across multiple systems when taken internally.*

Uses

  • Add one to two drops of RevitaZen to citrus drinks, teas, or water.
  • Place three to four drops of RevitaZen in the diffuser of your choice for a refreshing, citrusy aroma.
  • Mix one to two drops of RevitaZen with one to two tablespoons of doTERRA Castor Oil. Apply diluted directly to the skin or on a castor oil pack.

Directions for Use:

Topical use: Dilute one drop of essential oil to 10 drops of carrier oil.
