Omega-3 supplementation supports full-term birth*

Full-term birth is best for the proper development and survival of infants. After conducting a systematic review of the scientific literature, London, UK, researchers reported that omega-3 fatty acid supplementation helps support full-term births,* or births that occur after at least 37 weeks gestation (November 2015). In fact, the researchers noted a significant increase in both mean gestational age and mean birth weight,* both key factors in the health of newborn infants. The World Health Organization recommends a daily intake of at least 300 mg of omega-3 fatty acids. Incredibly, Western diets can have as low as 15 mg of omega-3 fatty acids per day. xEO Mega®, dōTERRA’s fatty acid supplement, is a great source of omega-3s and other fatty acids. Pregnant and nursing women should consult with a physician before starting any dietary supplement. Learn more about xEO Mega here: Essential Fatty Acids and xEO Mega®.
