Today, a mere 14 years since the founding of doTERRA, our uncompromising commitment to purity has transformed an entire industry. This commitment has driven us to find new ways to source the best and help the most, from increasing supply chain transparency to building life-saving hospitals. 2021 has been a momentous year for doTERRA. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, and this is just the beginning.

Expanded our global family:

  • Opened new markets in Thailand and Israel.
  • Shipped to millions of customers in 134 countries.
  • Achieved recognition as the largest essential oil company in the world from Verify Markets.

Empowered people in underserved regions:

  • Supported 463,025 jobs worldwide.
  • Intentionally, sustainably sourced essential oils in 47 countries.
  • Improved nearly 3 million lives.
  • Donated $2.3 million to improve the health, safety, and self-reliance of people in sourcing communities.
  • By 2030, our goal is to be actively improving the lives of 10 million people.

Increased supply chain transparency:

  • Launched a 10-year plan to audit our 270 plus supply chains.
  • Implemented a new measurement methodology to evaluate our suppliers’ adherence to the Sourcing Guiding Principles.
  • Audited 14% of our supply chains in the first year—92% of which achieved Silver and Gold status.
  • Our goal by 2030 is to ensure that 95% of our supply chain partners have achieved Silver or higher, 55% reach Gold, and 35% reach Diamond.

Improved lives and reduced human suffering:

  • Donated $14.5 million to global humanitarian projects.
  • Increased charitable donations by 14.6%.
  • Distributed 55,731 disaster relief kits.
  • Matched Wellness Advocate fundraising efforts for 117 humanitarian projects.
  • Provided relief to 601,750 individuals impacted by COVID-19.
  • By 2030, our goal is to be consistently completing 500 projects annually, improving the lives of more than 1 million people each year.

Galvanized our long-term commitment to end human trafficking:

  • Launched Hope, our comprehensive action plan to fight human trafficking and victimization.
  • Donated over $1 million to fight human trafficking worldwide.
  • Supported programs to prevent trafficking, rescue victims, and restore dignity for survivors.
  • By 2030, our goal is to be donating $3 million annually to prevent trafficking, rescue victims from human exploitation, and restore dignity for survivors.

Saved lives with access to healthcare in rural Somaliland:

  • Opened the Sanaag Specialty Hospital, providing first-time healthcare access for a region with more than 600,000 people.
  • Raised $2.5 million to fund hospital operations for five years.
  • Supported an endowment fund to provide medical staff salaries in perpetuity.
  • Our goal for 2030 is to be consistently donating $6 million annually via doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation, such that we can improve the lives of 3.5 million people every year[2] in the communities where we source our essential oils.

Made progress in our sustainability agenda:

  • Overhauled our shipping processes to reduce energy consumption and shipping material volume.
  • Replaced plastic shipping materials with paper, saving 283,000 pounds of plastic per year.
  • Switched to carbon-efficient ocean shipments wherever possible.
  • Began formulating key products as concentrates to reduce product weight, shipping volume, carbon emissions, and packaging materials.
  • All of these changes have significantly reduced our carbon emissions, and we are committed to making more progress in this area each year. Our goal by 2030 is carbon neutrality.

Prioritized environmental conservation:

  • Continued working to protect and restore native forests in Hawaii, which is the largest reforestation effort in the state’s history.
  • Received a 2021 SEAL Environmental Initiatives Award.
  • Won a USDA grant to help Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander farmers access federal funds.
  • Supported conservation and land management educational programming for Hawaiian students.
  • Our goal by 2030 is to have planted more than 1 million trees at KMR and landscape restoration areas across the state.

Advanced research and science:

  • Launched a multiyear cutting-edge essential oil research project to demonstrate the superiority of doTERRA essential oils and validate their use in clinical settings.
