dōTERRA Donates to TJ for Kids Memorial Fund to Support Angela’s House

March 2, 2016

Medicine needs, hospital visits, and constant care can be burdensome to families with special needs children. In response, Angela’s House was created to help ease those burdens.

Since their beginning, the TJ for Kids Memorial Fund has supported local children and their families who are in need of medical, educational, and social service assistance. On Nov. 14, 2015, the organization held its fifth annual fundraiser. This beneficial and lively event included a chance auction in which doTERRA donated product to be auctioned off to further the foundation’s cause. This year, the TJ for Kids Memorial Fund donated the proceeds of the auction to the Angela’s House Outreach Program.

The Angela’s House Outreach Program is a nonprofit organization that supports children and their families affected by medical fragility or serious illness. Often times, severe medical issues are accompanied by costly medicine, constant hospital care, and demanding needs that can put families into financial and emotional disarray. However, Angela’s House is devoted to helping these individuals and their families by providing support catered to each child’s needs. The organization achieves this through their residential care program, home care assistance program, and other additional programs.

Many of the children who are supported by Angela’s House require nursing care to monitor vital signs, administer medicine, and help do daily tasks. This kind of care can be rigorous and can get overwhelming. Angela’s House strives to take this unnecessary pressure off caretakers by providing the residential care program. This program consists of three homes where medically fragile children can come and have their needs met by qualified nurses and staff members, while being close to home. Here, each child’s needs are specifically catered to as they receive the monitoring, medicine, or attention they need while living in a loving and compassionate environment.

The home care assistance program offers support to families who are taking care of medically frail or special needs children in their homes through case management and service coordination. The case managers make sure that each family has access to a large spectrum of eligible services in order to properly care for a child at home. The managers will also work with the family to meet the best interests of the child in need.

Along with their care programs, Angela’s House aids families through counseling and training and also hosts community projects that build support for medically dependent children and their families. Donations, like those from TJ for Kids Memorial Fund and doTERRA, help further the cause of Angela’s House and create a positive impact on those they serve.
