Natural Shampoo for Kids

If you've ever wondered what all those extra ingredients are in your child's shampoo, this DIY might be right for you. Infused with Lavender oil, this natural shampoo recipe helps cleanse and soothe the scalp—perfect for little ones with sensitive skin.

Ingredients

1 cup water

1 cup liquid castile soap

1 teaspoon vegetable glycerin

10–15 drops Lavender essential oil

Directions

  1. Pour water into a glass pump bottle.
  2. Add liquid castile soap.

Note: This ingredient is cleansing and helps give the shampoo its suds. If you're unable to find castile soap, opt for another natural liquid soap.

  3. Add glycerin.

Note: Glycerin is a great inclusion as it helps hair retain moisture in the shaft, and provide a glossy shine.

  4. Add Lavender oil.

Note: Lavender is a gentle addition that helps soothe skin.

  5. Shake glass bottle until all ingredients are mixed thorougly.
  6. Lather a pump or two of this mixture into your child's hair at bath time.
  7. Shake well before each use.
