Lauren Gibbs

Olympic Bobsledder and 2018 Silver Medalist

Lauren Gibbs is an American Olympic medalist and a world champion in bobsledding. Lauren didn’t start bobsledding until she was 30, when a friend suggested she try out for the team. After making her first national team in 2014, Lauren quit her job to train and compete full-time.

Lauren attended Brown University, earning a BA in entrepreneurship. She then earned an executive MBA at Pepperdine and worked in corporate sales management. After the Olympics, Lauren was invited to speak at a TEDx event about the lessons she’d learned on her journey from corporate America to the Olympic podium. Her speech kicked off a public speaking career. Lauren is also the director of internal sales and marketing for Parity.

Q & A

  • Adaptiv®, Copaiba, and Bergamot.
  • The products are incredible—and the mission is even better!
  • Life is too short to spend time on things (and food) that don’t bring you joy.
  • It was like being kicked off a cliff in a trash can.
  • Motivation comes and goes, for sure. Sometimes I feel like I can conquer the world. Other times I feel like the world is conquering me. And those feelings can shift in a matter of hours. My motivation comes from being honest with myself about the effort I’m putting into my training every day. Some days are better than others, but fighting to do my best instead of focusing on my goal of winning gold at the Olympics is what keeps me motivated. Success is a journey, not a destination.
