Perry Baker played college football for NCAA Division II Fairmont State University West Virginia. He graduated from Fairmont State in 2010 with a degree in Criminal Justice. Baker was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL in July 2011, but he suffered a knee injury that cut short his NFL career. Baker played two seasons for the Pittsburg Power of the Arena Football League from 2012 to 2013. After two years with the Pittsburgh Power, Baker picked up rugby in Daytona Beach before training at Tiger Academy. He was invited to the Residency Program at the Olympic Training Center in 2014 and made his World Rugby Sevens Series debut later that year.

Baker was named to World Rugby's Rookie of the Year shortlist following the 2014-15 campaign, and led the Eagles in tries scored in 2015-16 with 48, good for second-most on the Series. A member of the U.S. team that qualified for the Rio 2016 Olympic Summer Games at the 2015 NACRA Sevens Championships, he was named to the 12-man Team USA squad for Rugby Sevens' Olympic debut and voted 2017's World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year. During the 2017-18 season, in the first match of the 2018 Hamilton Sevens Tournament, Baker passed Zack Test to become USA's All-Time Leading Try Scorer. Baker secured the milestone, an incredible achievement, in only three years with the squad. Weeks later, at the 2018 USA Sevens Tournament, Baker scored 8 tries on the Eagles' quest to secure their first ever Cup on home soil. Perry’s favorite doTERRA product is Deep Blue Rub. “I was in Denver Colorado playing in a rugby tournament and starting to cramp really bad and Paul Holmes said ‘I have something for you…’ He got Deep Blue Rub and put it on my stomach and I noticed a difference within seconds. From that moment on Deep Blue has been my favorite. I use it before every game now.”
