Essential oils company doTERRA hits mark as Top 10 trademark registrant in the state of Utah.
For the second year in a row, doTERRA was recognized as one of Utah’s top 10 most innovative businesses at the Utah Genius Awards ceremony held May 2, at Little America Hotel. doTERRA was issued 14 trademarks in 2015, qualifying them as a top 10 trademark registrants in the state of Utah.
“It is a pleasure to be recognized two years in a row,” said David Stirling, Founding Executive and CEO of doTERRA. Stirling noted that the recognition wouldn’t be possible without the company’s Co-Impact Sourcing® program, a multifaceted initiative that ensures the business partnerships they have established with their suppliers are mutually beneficial. The program, Stirling says, has also enabled the introduction of new products from a variety of areas around the world.
“We source over 100 essential oils from over 40 countries, a majority of which are considered developing countries,” said Stirling. “Through our Co-Impact Sourcing initiative, doTERRA is able to offer our suppliers sustainable employment and on-time payments at fair prices, as well guidance on how to grow their plants and how to run a business.”
According to Kirk Jowers, doTERRA’s Vice President of Corporate Relations, the award is an acknowledgment that the company is on the right track. “This recognition is not only evidence of our continued growth, it also indicates that what we are doing is working and that we’re helping people.”
