doTERRA Captivates Tens of Thousands at Annual Global Convention in Salt Lake City

International attendees mix education with service and entertainment during three-day celebration, pledge over 270,000 acts of kindness 


PLEASANT GROVE, Utah—October 4, 2019—doTERRA, the world’s largest essential oils company, recently hosted the largest single company convention in the State of Utah. Attendees from 56 countries flooded Salt Lake City, filling Vivint Smart Home Arena and the Salt Palace Convention Center, with thousands more joining via a livestream of the events.

“The 2019 convention was a celebration of doTERRA’s successes and an immersive experience into an even brighter future,” said David Stirling, founding executive, chairman and CEO at doTERRA. “We launched more than a dozen new products, provided meaningful service, presented unprecedented scientific research and new medical initiatives, and highlighted our work around the world through Co-Impact Sourcing and the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation. True to doTERRA’s mission of changing the world one drop, one person, one community at a time, the company launched the Kindness Campaign leading up to the convention. The 15-day challenge encouraged participants to commit to one act of kindness each day. The campaign culminated in a keynote address by Leon Logothetis, the author of The Kindness Diaries and host of the Netflix series with the same name. The campaign generated 270,193 unique acts of kindness and emphasized the importance of empathy and compassion.

Building upon the theme of kindness, the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation organized the Mamababy service project. Thousands of Wellness Advocates and volunteers assembled 1,200 kits that will be sent to mothers and their newborns in birthing centers located in Nepal, Kenya, Guatemala, Haiti, and at the US/Mexico border. Each kit consists of a backpack filled with a hand-tied baby blanket, hand-decorated onesies, a beanie, socks, towel, lavender soap, and Lavender Touch essential oil.

Other highlights of the event include a 130,000 square foot product and immersive experience showcase; the launch of 14 innovative new products; an in-depth look at doTERRA’s scientific and healthcare initiatives; performances by singer-songwriter Andy Grammer, American Idol alum Ashley Hess, and sand animation artist Kseniya Simonova; inspiring presentations and discussions by doTERRA’s founding executives, Wellness Advocate leaders, leading scientists and doctors, and special guests, including Olivia Moultrie, the youngest American women’s soccer player to turn pro; and annual reports on the company’s Co-Impact Sourcing and philanthropic work.
