May 18, 2016

A Utah essential oil company was honored among the top Utah companies for excellence, innovation, and contribution to the quality of life in Utah.

On Wednesday, May 18, 2016, hundreds of businessmen and businesswomen filled the Salt Palace Convention Center Grand Ballroom to honor Utah companies receiving the Best of State Awards, presented by Mary Nickles and Ron Bird of KUTV News. For the second year in a row, doTERRA was recognized as a leader at the black tie event.

doTERRA received the Best of State Award for Essential Oils/Botanicals in the Merchandising and Consumer Services Category, making it the only essential oil company recognized at the Gala.

“We are honored to be recognized with this award,” stated David Stirling, doTERRA Founding Executive, CEO & President. “We love Utah and are committed to our community.”

Last year, doTERRA finished the second phase of its corporate headquarters, adding a state-of-the-art warehouse and an additional office tower, bringing the total square footage of the campus to nearly 400,000. Offices were also opened in Mexico and Singapore, and the company celebrated expansion into Canada.

doTERRA is a world leader in the sourcing, testing, manufacturing, and distribution of therapeutic-grade essential oils and oil-infused personal care and spa products, dietary supplements, and healthy living products. The company currently employs more than 2,000 people worldwide.

“The Best of State Award speaks to the innovative work of our scientists and growers, the quality of our oils, and the support and dedication of our Wellness Advocates and employees,” said Stirling. “I am grateful to call Utah my home, and look forward to continued success and growth.”

About the Best of State Awards

The Best of State Awards were created to recognize the people, organizations, and businesses that are achieving, innovating, and improving the quality of life in Utah. Judges review submitted material and online nominations, and assign three separate scores to each nominee, for a total of 100 possible points. Fifty percent of the points are for overall achievement and excellence in service, products, or performance. Another 30 percent is for innovation, creativity, and differentiation. The remaining 20 percent is for contributions that make Utah a better place to live. Each company is measured against the Best of State Motto: "Excelling and Surpassing All Else."
