doTERRA Wellness Advocate Cory Ritsko worked with the Las Vegas Police department, Victim Services and the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation® to bring emotional therapy with oils to victims of the Las Vegas shooting on October 1, 2017. Blue Diamond Joan Coon sponsored the project.
October 1, 2017 is a day no Las Vegas residents are going to forget about. At the Route 91 country music festival a gunman opened fired on the crowd, killing and wounding many people. Wellness Advocate Cory Ristko is a resident of Las Vegas and after the events that transpired that day, she was inspired to help. Cory has always had an interest in law enforcement and found the Victim Service department to be a perfect fit for her. She has always felt strongly to help victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. The shooting reaffirmed her want to help the helpless. That is when she decided to turn to her oils to help victims of the attack.
Working with Blue Diamond Sponsor and the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation, Cory was able to put together a product match campaign. Lavender, Peppermint, Wild Orange, Citrus Bliss, Copaiba, and doTERRA Balance® and Emotional Aromaherapy™ kits were gathered and donated. She now teaches classes about how oils can help with emotional healing and balance, giving the victims the oils to use in their own healing processes. Cory teaches not only classes to those effected by the events on October 1, but also members of the Las Vegas community who are domestic violence survivors.
Cory now teaches a class every month to victims and plans to add a yoga class to further her outreach. She had this to say about her experience with the Healing Hands Foundation, “doTERRA was extremely helpful when I reached out after October 1. I have watched how doTERRA has helped millions of people through other charities and organizations and thought that I could try to see how doTERRA can help us.”
