Guatemala Service Trip 2013
In partnership with Mentors International, the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation™ embarked on its first annual service expedition in July 2013 to the city of Huehuetenango, Guatemala. Participants included doTERRA Executives as well as 28 doTERRA Wellness Advocate leaders.
Each participant paid the cost of the trip plus additional donations that helped to fund the projects that were worked on. The group worked on Mario Mendez Montenegro kindergarten school. Projects included repairs, painting, landscaping, putting in new fencing, installing new kid-sized toilets, and constructing a roof and divider walls in the bathroom area.
At a medical center nearby the school, doTERRA donated medical supplies, physician diagnostic tools, and essential oil kits to distribute in the medical center. Dr. David Hill, doTERRA International Chief Medical Adviser, provided training to the medical care physicians on the uses of essential oils.
doTERRA expresses its gratitude to our partner organization, Mentors International, for helping make this expedition a great success. Also a special thanks goes to the generous doTERRA Wellness Advocates that donated their precious time and resources to come on this expedition on behalf of the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation.
