Slim & Sassy®—Sherry Marshal

2017 Slim & Sassy Competition Grand Prize Winner

“It is never too late to be who you might have been”—Sherry Marshal

A Winning Attitude

As Sherry began the Slim & Sassy contest, she still faced many of the obstacles that had made losing weight difficult in the past. However, with clear goals in mind and motivation to change her life, Sherry began seeing results that helped her continue to improve and build a healthy lifestyle. She says, “In the past, I did not use the proper detoxification products, supplements, or oils to help my body metabolize fat properly and help me de-stress without turning to my food addiction.” After losing 46 pounds and taking her dress size from a 20 to a 14, Sherry feels that she has finally found a routine that works for her personally.* Sherry says, “I no longer allow food to control my life. Meditation, daily exercise, and fresh, raw food are actually things I look forward to now!”

After overcoming many obstacles to lose weight, Sherry hopes that others can avoid the negative thoughts and myths that filled her mind before beginning her Slim & Sassy journey. Here are a few mistakes and mentalities that Sherry says to avoid:

“Weight loss just doesn’t work for me.”

This negative thought kept replaying in my mind. But in the past, I wasn’t consistent, I wasn’t adequately prepared, and I did not write down my goals, which is why weight loss hadn’t worked for me.

“I’m too old to lose weight.”

I let myself believe that because I’m 60 years old, I can’t possibly lose weight, but this contest helped me realize that I can do whatever I put my mind to. It’s never too late.

“I don’t have time to eat healthy.”

I realize now how crippling this can be. It only takes a split second to step back, reevaluate, and make a better choice.

“I will never achieve my goals.”

In the past, I never wrote down my goals. Once I made clear goals and rewarded myself positively for achie ving short term goals, I worked my way up to achieving long term goals instead of never reaching goals that were just in my head.

*Results vary based on diet and exercise. Typical loss may be less.
