Aruba Day of Service 2013

During the doTERRA 2013 Incentive Cruise to the Caribbean, doTERRA Wellness Advocates participated in a day of service on behalf of the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation™ in San Nicolas, Aruba. A total of 350 volunteers split into groups and provided service at four schools and a park. The doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation also donated funds to each of the organizations for further assistance beyond the service provided.

Graf von Zinzendorf Kleuterschool
Emily Wright, doTERRA Vice President of Leadership Development, headed a group of 110 volunteers that worked on projects at the Graf von Zinzendorf Kleuterschool—the poorest school in Aruba. The group was divided into groups: one group led games and activities outside with the 60 children (ages 4‑8); another group painted and refinished the bookcases in the school; a third group packed up the school rooms to help them move to a new location; and many volunteers cleaned and helped with smaller projects throughout the school. The group also delivered educational toys and games for the children.

John Wesley College
Dr. David Hill, D.C. , doTERRA Chief Medical Advisor, headed a group of 65 volunteers to work on projects at John Wesley College. The group cleared roots, trees, and grass in order to prepare a large area for a cement pad and flag poles. A generous donation given to the school was used to pour and finish the cement pad.

Tirakochi Park
A group of 40 volunteers joined Corey Lindley, doTERRA Chief Financial Officer, and the Aruba Rotary Club to help refinish and rebuild a playground used by three elementary schools in the vicinity.

Mon Plaisir Kleuterschool
A group of 75 volunteers joined Rob Young, doTERRA Vice President of Marketing, and divided into three groups to cover the service needs at the school. One group planted flowers and gardened with the children (spurring the creation of a “Grow It” program at the school); the second group led activities and sports while the third group led a scavenger hunt.

La Salle College
A group of 60 volunteers painted signs for a park and cleaned up a nearby park adopted by the school.
