doTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil is a natural carrier oil that readily absorbs into the skin, making it ideal for topical delivery. Its feather-light emollient effect provides a soothing barrier without clogging the body’s pores, making it an excellent moisturizer for dry or troubled skin. It leaves the skin feeling silky smooth and non-greasy, unlike other vegetable carrier oils. Fractionated Coconut Oil is completely soluble with all essential oils and is colorless, odorless, and stain-free.
Often referred to as West Indian sandalwood, the amyris tree isn’t related to true sandalwood but has gained its nickname from the similarity in its aroma. Historically, the indigenous Caribbeans and Central Americans used amyris wood to build canoes and torches.
Amyris essential oil is distilled from the bark. Amyris oil is warm, woody, and slightly balsamic.
Refreshing, clean, and airy, the aroma of Balsam Fir essential oil conjures images of forests covered in freshly fallen snow and cozy holiday gatherings around a crackling fire.
Native to Eastern and Central Canada and the Northeastern US, balsam fir trees are conifers with dense, flat, dark green needles. These branches are incredibly fragrant and relatively soft. Balsam fir trees grow more than 80 feet high and typically live up to 100 years.
Balsam Fir is one of the most common and popular choices for Christmas trees because of its strong, refreshing scent. Balsam Fir essential oil captures that distinct, pine forest aroma in a bottle!
Coriander essential oil is sourced from the seeds of an aromatic annual herb that grows up to three feet high—the same plant we get Cilantro essential oil from. Like Lavender essential oil, Coriander oil has a high linalool content, which promotes a clear complexion when applied to the skin. It’s sweet, herbaceous aroma adds a fresh, hearty note to essential oil blends.
A coveted ingredient in luxury perfumes, magnolias are indulgent tropical flowers with several impressive benefits. Magnolia essential oil is steam-distilled from fresh petals.
Flowers are handpicked from the tree and then spread out to dry for a few hours before distillation. Magnolia flowers can be harvested twice a year: in the summer and again in the late fall or early winter.
Magnolia trees were once quite large. Traditionally, farmers harvesting the flowers had to erect scaffolding around the trees to access and pick the flowers. At some point, the trees were cultivated to be shorter so the flowers were easier to pick.
The trees are planted in giant wooden or cement containers. Once they mature, the trees are replanted in the ground. The trees continue to grow, but they grow out rather than up, which makes harvesting easier, safer, and quicker.
